MEET THE CREW

Peachie Saxon

Peachie Saxon began her floral design career in the early 1970’s doing weddings and parties out of her basement. In 1978 she and two others partners began a full service florist that is now known as Saxon’s Flowers and Gifts.

Peachie studied floral design under Ralph Null and Frankie Shelton and has been training designers ever since; including her daughter, Sabrina, and her granddaughter, Amy. She is a master gardener and was twice selected the runner up of Designer of the Year, Mississippi Floral Association.

Sabrina Bell

Sabrina is Peachie’s oldest daughter and formerly served in the United States Air Force. While away from home she obtained her degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, and raised her three daughters. Upon her mother “Peachie’s” request, in 2001, she returned home to help in the family business. Just like her mother, Sabrina studied floral design from Frankie Shelton, and enjoys learning new design techniques. As the current owner of Saxon’s Flowers, Sabrina works hard to ensure that every customer gets the best service and quality designs.

Amy Huckaby

Amy is the 3rd generation at Saxons Flowers. She began her creative career working weekends and holidays beside her grandmother and mother, while achieving her two degrees; International Business Marketing, and French, at Mississippi State University.

After graduating she decided to return home to design in the family business. She studies up to date trends while continuing to learn from her grandmother’s and mother’s experiences.  Amy is our wedding and event coordinator and works to create that one-of-a-kind event for every customer. Along with designer and interior decorator, Ty May, every event is designed with the smallest detail in mind.

Ty May

Ty began his love for design from his English grandmother. Her passion helped him discover his creative nature. During his teens he began working beside Peachie at Saxon’s and learned the art of floral design. Then he traveled to Jackson where he gained more experience in the art. After, he received a position as an Innkeeper at the Grand Magnolia in Pascagoula, MS, where he was also the interior designer and event planner. He has now returned to Meridian and has brought with him his design talent. We at Saxon’s like to call Ty a “magician” because he can turn anything into a masterpiece.  He has also teamed up with Amy in the planning and designing of weddings and special events.

Betty Theriot

Betty hails from New Orleans, LA, but has been in Meridian working at Saxon’s 30 years. We have a saying around here “Betty knows everything!” If Betty doesn’t know it, no one does! She is known for her high style designs and her one-of-a-kind pieces.

Rosanne Knight

Rosanne has worked at Saxon’s for 14 years and is a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women. Her hobbies include working in her yard, reading, volunteering at church (flower arranging), babysitting her grandson, and visiting with family and friends. She has 2 sons and 1 grandson, age 6. She hopes to do more traveling in the future!

Sylvia Joiner

Sylvia has been designing for Saxon’s for the past six years, and has been in the floral business for thirty years. She has a grandson named William and a granddaughter named Katherine, who is a member of Phi Mu at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Sylvia is a huge Star Trek fan! She loves reading and writing about Star Trek, writing poetry, and she absolutely adores animals.

Jessica Schnoor

Jessica joined the Saxon's crew back in February 2008. She has an associate’s degree as well as a bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, with a background in media and film. She is also a certified school teacher in the state of Mississippi. Apart from working as a customer service representative, she loves designing dish gardens and delivering flowers to the people of Meridian! In her spare time she enjoys drinking coffee, making short films, interior design, and hanging with her nephew, Braden.

Kailie Dunlap

Kailie has been working with our team since November 2009. She is the daughter of Marc Dunlap and Laurie Martin and has three siblings, Kelsey, Rylee, and Laird. Kailie is currently in her second year at Meridian Community College and will then transfer to a university and is considering a career in wedding design and planning.

Natylee Killen

Natylee received a horticulture degree from Meridian Community College in 2003, and has 10 years experience in her field. Since 2005 Natylee has been helping customers at Saxon’s with their every need. She currently manages our garden room and designs our dish and European gardens. If you call Saxon’s you may also hear Natylee’s warm and eager voice on the line. She always does service with a smile.
